NBM for February: Dungeon Monstres at War!

Coming this February is another look at the expansive world of DUNGEON, created by comics legends Joann Sfar and Lewis Trondheim. NBM has published over 15 volumes of the French series- called a cross between Adventure Time and Dungeons and Dragons. Click here for an excellent summary of the series.

DUNGEON MONSTRES, written by the series creators, features a guest artist on each story. Keramidas, An ex-Disney animator, (Luuna) brings to life “The Inventor’s Grimoire”  featuring the classic Dungeon characters: Marvin, Herbert, the Dungeon Keeper, and more! As the magical spell book falls into the wrong hands, the fate of the castle and the denizens of the realm, are auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Cartoonist Stanislas, channels Herge’s ligne claire, clear line in “The Great Animator,” the second story in this volume, as Duckville is under attack and Craftiwich must build the most formidable of armies to have a chance of surviving. What lengths will he go to in order to secure his stronghold?

In an automaton themed volume, ‘The Great Animator’ pits the predecessor to the Vaucanson great castle and realm against a huge army of ruthless invaders.
